About Us
How it all began..
Characters on Main was founded in 2022 by Writer/Director Ryan Vanderhei. Previously Vanderhei Productions, Characters on Main Pictures is a production company based in Los Angeles, CA that is focused on telling captivating stories aimed at inspiring personal reflection and introspection in its audience.
Where we've been..
Our first production at Characters on Main was an 11 minute short film about equality called "Just Like You" that was released during the fall of 2020. It premiered at the acclaimed Beverly Hills International Film Festival and received selections in both LA-Lift Off Film Festival and Silicon Beach Film Festival. This was followed by "Buried" a 26 minute short film about self discovery that premiered at the Burbank International Film festival amongst other selections including LA-Lift Off.
Where we're going..
Fresh off the heels of "Buried," Characters on Main is excited to bring to the festival circuit a 19 minute short romantic drama called "A Bridge Between Us". ABBU had its world premiere at Hollywood Reel Independent film festival in February and it is currently awaiting what is to come from the rest of the festival circuit. Once the festival season is over, a new project is already nearing the end of pre-production. Details to be revealed soon.
